Then & Now...

When I say Then & Now, what comes to mind...Well, It would be things from then past and things from now. We could talk about a lot of things, but here I will be talking about clothing & crochet.

As we have notice in the world of clothing the styles always come back in style. So lets go to the 60's & 70's we had bellbottoms, hip huggers, peasant style tops & platform shoes. Also anything that had a Indian theme to it. In crochet there was crochet bags, hats, scarves & ponchos and a lot more, but I will just stick with these few things since there is SO MANY more that I could get in to. So if you were a kid or teen in the 60's & 70's you know these styles very well just as I do. You may have loved or hated them back in the day. Me I was a kid in the 70's and I hated my bellbottoms & my fishheads sneakers . So now if you have been keeping a eye out on the styles over the past few years what do you see all the the young women & girls wearing, well it's the same styles we use to wear. But now they the have changed the names to make them seem like they are a new style. Now we have flare jeans, low rides & blocks shoes. And jus the other day I walked past a local women's clothing store and sitting up in the windows were moccasins.

See where I'm going here "Then & Now"..

Now onto crochet.. Even thou crochet is back big time the name of the items have not changed the only main differences is that now most of these items can be bought in the store and not handmade for by mom or grandma, or another family member like back in the day. I remember my mom and great grandma making hats, scarves even a dress for me when I was a kid. Now most of these items are mass produced using crochet machines. Yes, there are still plenty of crocheters out there and I'm one of them. What you would get from us will be much better then anything you can find in a store. Because we make every item with TLC and that's something you won't find from a machine.

So as we all get older, young & old a like, remember Then & Now and take a good look at these things because it just might be something from your past that is back again just a different name.

Craftiejean's Creations is my online store. So, what will you find at Craftiejean's? At Craftiejean's we sell all handmade products. We sell hand crochet products, little girl's korker hair bows & custom made children's clothing. All products are hand made by myself. I take much pride & joy in every item that I make and sell.

So, what exactly does Craftiejean make?

Well, for the crochet products you will find items for the kitchen as in handtowels, hotpads & potholders, dishcloths & coasters. Then we have afghans/blankets, baby & children items, scrunchies & kerchiefs for girls, teens & women. There is also crochet bags & purses, ponchos, dolls w/crochet outfits. Along with other odds&ends.

Now on to the handmade korker hair bows. Yes, another of my handmade items. To make these cute little hair bows, I do everything from curling them to putting them together into these cute hair bows.

And last and surely not least.. There are my custom handmade children's clothing. These are boutique style clothings. I make mostly girl's clothing but will also do clothing for boy's from time to time.
